This Privacy Policy describes how Culinary Journey (the "Service") collects, uses and protects personal data of its users.
When you register we collect your email address and name. When you use the Service we automatically receive information about viewed regions, saved bookmarks and language preferences, as well as anonymised usage data via a web analytics service (Google Analytics). A significant part of the content (information about restaurants, wineries, experiences, maps and geodata) is loaded from third-party services and displayed within the Service. We do not collect payment card data (online payment is not yet connected).
Your data is used to provide access to the Service, personalise content (saved regions, guides in your language), improve the Service and contact you for support purposes.
The Service uses session cookies for authentication and language preferences. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
We do not sell your personal data. We may share a limited amount of data with providers that operate the Service: hosting and infrastructure; maps and geodata (Google Maps/Places, OpenStreetMap/Nominatim); venue and experience data (Google Places, Yelp, Foursquare, TripAdvisor, GetYourGuide, Airbnb Experiences, Traveling Spoon); web analytics (Google Analytics); and, when you subscribe to a paid plan, the payment service (Paddle). These providers process data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We also disclose data when required by law.
We apply reasonable organisational and technical measures to protect your data. Passwords are stored encrypted (bcrypt). Data access is limited to authorised staff.
You may request access to, correction or deletion of your data by emailing [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable time.
We may update this Policy. We will notify you of material changes by email, to the address associated with your account, stating the effective date and a link to the updated version. If you do not agree with the changes, you may delete your account by emailing [email protected]. By continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect, you accept them.
